Raising visitor expectations
The new orientation strategy at Duxford not only delivers effective wayfinding, but is successfully helping the museum raise visitor expectations, promote choice, assist visit planning, respond to access requirements, underpin educational initiatives and improve the quality of visitor experience.

The use of dramatic and emotive imagery is a central feature of the new creative concept for visitor communication at Duxford, and a key aspect in telling a very powerful and relevant human story.

The significant role played by Duxford in the Battle of Britain is commemorated through specially commissioned images of a 1940s RAF fighter pilot preparing to fly. Every detail has been carefully composed and checked to create a highly compelling visual for visitors arriving to the museum.
